He has fond memories and a true appreciation of the simple life he's lived there. Soft drinks were five cents. Families were close. Homework was done at night by kerosene light. There was no electricity in the house. While travelling and photographing nature & the rural countryside, he developed an immediate bond with several Amish communities, whose lifestyle so very much mirrored his own as a child. Even though most Amish adults prefer to never be photographed, the friendships and trust Ora has kindled with the Amish communities has granted he and his camera a fascinating, rarely-seen look into their lives. He's been fortunate to be able to share this vision with the general public in the form of six sold-out calendar runs, and now, his web site.

Favorite photography topics include Kentucky's Cumberland Falls, the Amish lifestyle, Nature, Landscapes, National Parks (especially Smoky Mountains NP), waterfalls, mountains, scenic California (Sierra Nevadas, the White Mountains, Lake Tahoe), and last but not least, wildflowers.
